Best Adults-Only Resorts in Cancun

View all Cancun Hotels

With gorgeous beaches and turquoise waters, Cancun is one of the top beach destinations in the world. Vacationing honeymooners, partying spring breakers, and families with kids all flock here for a warm-weather getaway. If you're looking to take a trip to Cancun sans children and want to up the peaceful vibe with an adults-only option, you've come to the right place. Here are the best adults-only resorts in Cancun!

  1. This adults-only luxury resort offers a nice all-inclusive experience with tons of variety -- multiple dining options, several beautiful pools, a gorgeous spa, and dozens of wonderful activities. The rooms here are large and contemporary, with large modern bathroomsJacuzzis, and high-end amenities such as big flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and iPod docks. Some have a large rooftop terrace with a private plunge pool with ocean views. However, note that the beach is less attractive than others farther south, and that there are no attractions nearby. Still, though, compared with the nearby, comparably luxurious Beloved Hotel, the Excellence has more to offer in terms of options. It's also quieter, since it's adults-only, so couples looking for a romantic getaway might prefer this over the Beloved.

  2. The luxurious, 260-room Le Blanc Spa is the best (and priciest) adult-only all-inclusive in town. It stands out for its gorgeous white-sand beach in the heart of the Hotel Zone, decadent spa (guests get free access to the hydrotherapy area), stunning pools (two withswim-up bars), and especially its pampering service, from the butlers who will unpack your clothes to the pool attendants who will provide cool towels for your eyes. It has a hip, gorgeous aesthetic throughout the entire pristine white property, and the modern, bright rooms have two-person whirlpool tubs; most have either ocean or lagoon views. The chic restaurants have great food and don't require reservations (aside from the stunningly designed Lumiere). Those seeking a luxury adult-only experience for less money might want to consider Hyatt Zilara, where every room has at least a partial view of the ocean.

  3. This 109-room sleek, sexy boutique hotel is a luxurious, adult-only all-inclusive located in the Playa Mujeres region just north of Cancun. It’s on a beautiful long white-sand beach -- which can have some seaweed from time to time -- and has three chic outdoor pools with food and drink service. Rooms are huge (starting at 960 square feet), all-white, and have big whirlpool tubs, as well as private balconies -- many with ocean views and some with plunge pools. The 35,000-square-foot spa is gorgeous, with an impressive hydrotherapy circuit, and the fitness center is extensive. Food at the four restaurants is excellent and a la carte, and reservations are not required; 24-hour room service is also available. Among the area's top all-inclusive resorts, the Beloved stands out as the only true boutique; Excellence Playa Mujeres right next door has a similar level of luxury, but it’s a much larger resort.

  4. The 497-room Secrets The Vine Cancun Resort & Spa is an all-inclusive, luxury hotel with an adults-only policy. Many of the rooms have stunning sea views from the balconies, and there are luxurious touches like Italian porcelain flooring and beautiful teak wood furniture. Guests can take advantage of a huge range of activities from yoga to wine tasting as well as six a la carterestaurants serving a global list of cuisines including Italian, Mexican, Argentinian, and Asian. Another way to indulge is the on-site spa, which has 14 treatment rooms, a sauna, and a steam room, plus there are four beautiful outdoor pools to choose from. The beachfront location is ideal for tourists wanting to relax, but it's also a short drive to several attractions.

  5. The appearance of the 288-room adults-only Hyatt Zilara Cancun goes against the often bad reputation all-inclusives have gained. Suites appear updated and buck traditional room layouts with a centrally located bed and spacious balcony (some are even swim-out). The bathrooms boast massive walk-in showers and Jacuzzi tubs with killer views. The quality of the food is surprisingly good and varied, including the convenient 24-hour VIP lounge. But like many all-inclusive properties, basic amenities can get crowded fast: Expect to fight for chairs by the pool or for dinner reservations at a decent hour. The vibe is also slightly older, so young couples or spring breakers may want to consider staying elsewhere. And families, of course, steer clear (no guests under the age of 16 are allowed).

  6. Designed to appeal to all of your senses, the 371-room Live Aqua all-inclusive luxury resort is for adults only. Contemporary upscale decor with artistic and modern details are found floor-to-ceiling, from the lily pad pond entrance, to the sophisticated and luxurious rooms, to the linen-draped beach cabana beds. The resorts vibe is best suited for those seeking a pampered and an atmosphere of modern affluence. This is one of the best luxury options in Cancun and most guests find very little to complain about; however, the food and beverage service and quality occasionally miss the mark.

  7. Oasis Sens is an adult-only, all-inclusive resort notable for its emphasis on a chilled-out, fun, and risque ambiance. Rooms are simple, but have interesting touches such as mood lighting -- some suites also have private plunge pools or whirlpool tubs. The terraced swimming pool complex is nicer than most, while the beach is typical of Cancun, with beautiful white sand and turquoise sea. Eating and drinking options within the all-inclusive plan are many and varied, but expect to stand in line at lunchtime.

  8. The mid-range Golden Parnassus (not to be confused with the Great Parnassus up the beach) is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort in Cancun's popular Hotel Zone. Sure, the white nondescript structure pales in comparison to the luxurious Ritz-Carlton next door, but the laid-back vibe and friendly staff -- who go out of their way to make sure everyone has fun -- draws many repeat guests. All 214 rooms come with small furnished balconies and marble baths, and the "club" level rooms have extras such as double Jacuzzis, bathrobes and free fruit baskets. The room decor is basic but fresh -- bare walls, neutral tones, and light wood floors. And the bathrooms, though a bit dark as far as lighting goes, have spacious showers and ample counter space. There are five restaurants to choose from, serving fare from Mexican to Japanese, and most guests find at least one they really like. The pool is large, as at most at Cancun all-inclusives, but this one doesn't have a swim-up bar -- a bit of a letdown at an adults-only hotel. On that note, this place can get a bit rowdy, so guests looking to relax in their room at night should ask for a higher floor on the lagoon side of the resort. Kids aren't welcome here, but families can check in at the sister resort, the Great Parnassus.

  9. The Temptation Resort Spa Cancun is an adult-only, topless-optional property that caters to 21 and over, uninhibited guests. There is never a dull moment at this all-inclusive resort, which features themed swimming pools and nightly risqué live shows. Fun-seeking singles and couples will find a range of entertainment from provocative games and contests -- like the Miss Temptation competition -- to sexy Temptation Idol karaoke. The color scheme throughout the resort is soothing white and passionate red. The 384 spacious rooms exude a romantic atmosphere. While the beach area is small and lackluster compared to other resorts, the shaded sun beds are a nice place to relax and unwind.
