Savoy Resort & Spa is a five-pearl resort with the area's largest swimming pool. It's located in Beau Vallon, with little to do in the immediate area, and is best suited to tourists who plan on taking full advantage of the resort's direct beach access, seven exceptional dining options, wonderful spa, and large gym. The 160 rooms and suites are luxe with flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, minibars, and balconies with striking pool or ocean views. Some suites include kitchenettes and hot tubs. As an alternative, the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa is a similar five-pearl resort with an even more secluded location and an infinity pool.
Luxurious hotel with stunning pools throughout the property
The Savoy Resort & Spa sits on a property filled with lush tropical plants and a path that leads to a white sandy beach. The white resort rises above palm trees and overlooks grounds filled with greenery and stunning beautiful square pools with floating plants or underwater floral designs. The architecture and decor has Asian influences that are sleek and contemporary. For instance, the open lobby has dark wooden floors that are complemented by tall ceilings with dark wooden slates and cozy chic armchairs. Other areas, like the restaurant, speak to the hotel’s luxe vibe with chic white patio seating next to the hotel’s extensive pool complex. Though most areas of the hotel run smoothly, some guests have reported issues with overbooking, check-in issues, or poor interactions with staff members. The hotel is aimed at luxury travelers who are seeking a private, relaxing getaway, most of whom are couples, though there are a significant number of families thanks to kid-friendly amenities like a kids’ club.
Surrounded by other resorts and 12 minutes by car to Victoria
Savoy Resort & Spa is a sprawling complex with a beachfront location on the island of Seychelles. It’s located in Beau Vallon, a large resort area, so it’s surrounded by other hotels, a handful of restaurants, and a few grocery stores. There’s not much to walk to, but travelers can take advantage of daily excursions from the resort. It’s a 26-minute drive to Morne Blanc, a mountain for hiking, and a 16-minute drive to Seychelles National Botanical Gardens. It takes 12 minutes by car to reach Victoria’s city center which is filled with shopping. Seychelles International Airport is a 25-minute drive away.
Elegant rooms with flat-screen TVs, minibars, and balconies
Rooms at the Savoy Resort & Spa are decorated in shades of cream, tan, and gray with parquet wooden floors or cream tiles, modern wooden furniture, and ocean or beach photographs on the wall. The overall effect is sophisticated and airy. Amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs with international satellite channels, safes, minibars, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and free Wi-Fi. Perhaps the best feature is that all rooms have furnished balconies with lovely ocean or pool views. Some suites are equipped with living rooms and small kitchenettes have sinks and two-burner stoves. The Penthouse has a hot tub on the balcony. Bathrooms are just as lovely as the rooms with vessel sinks, separate rainfall showers and tubs, Molton Brown toiletries, and hairdryers.
Private beach, diverse restaurants, and enormous outdoor pool complex
There’s so much to love at the Savoy Resort & Spa that it’s hard to determine the highlight amenity of the property. First, there’s the wide-open stretch of blindingly white sand on the hotel’s private beach. The hotel’s pool is the largest in the city and stretches throughout the property in a meandering sort of way. Floral decals at the bottom of the pool add visual interest and the pool complex includes a large deck with loungers and cabanas. At the spa, travelers can enjoy massages, beauty treatments, sauna, ice fountain, steam room, and a pool with a hydromassage section and waterfall. The hotel’s gym is a spacious area with modern cardio and weight equipment, free weights, fitness classes, a Yoga and Pilates pavilion, and tennis courts.
Travelers don’t have to go far to get a bite to eat. The hotel has an extensive breakfast buffet with hot and cold items, but if it’s not included in the room rate. There are seven dining options on-site which includes the Island Trader, a buffet-style restaurant, an Indian Gourmet restaurant, the Mahek Restaurant, and the Grand Savoy, an all-day dining international restaurant. Other dining options include those with pool views like Pescado, which has a fish market, Gecko Bar, the hotel’s beach and pool bar, and the Ocean Deck Pub, which offers cocktails and spectacular views. Room service is available 24 hours. Take note that the restaurants are quite pricey for the area.
Besides leisure activities, there’s often live entertainment, hosted games among resort guests, boutiques on-site for shopping, and a cozy library lounge with a desktop computer and books. There’s also a supervised kids’ club. The hotel has fully-equipped meeting rooms that can host up to 300 people. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout and there’s nearby parking.
